Dear Esteemed Students,

Welcome to the School of Education and Social Sciences, a fundamental cornerstone at Lukenya University.

Our primary goal is to cultivate teachers who provide essential services to the nation and the world, aligning

with the objectives outlined in Vision 2030.

With specialized and qualified personnel, our graduates are competitive in the job market, supported by

a motivated teaching and support staff, delivering efficient services to our clients.

 

Our diverse programs, including Master of Education in Educational Administration and Planning,

Master of Arts in Geography, Master of Education in Early Childhood,

Postgraduate Diploma in Education, BED Arts, BED Science, Community Development, Diploma in

Social Work, and Certificate in Social Work, cater to a broad spectrum of educational needs.

 

 

Continuously adapting to educational trends such as the CBC Curriculum and ODEL programs, we review and innovate our programs to
remain relevant and meet market demands. Workshops and seminars are organized for holistic development, fostering a culture of research
and scholarly work within the school.
Our pedagogical approach, employing a participatory method, addresses emerging educational issues as embraced in the CBC Curriculum,
while meeting the unique needs of learners, thus contributing to national growth and development.

As students fulfill Lukenya University's mission using modalities that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and innovation, they are
prepared to tackle contemporary societal challenges like insecurity, corruption, poverty, and climate change.

 First Class or Upper Second class Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or Second Class Lower Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with two years working experience.


  2. Master of Arts Geography



 First Class or Upper Second class Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or Second Class Lower Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with two years working experience.

3. Master of Arts History


 First Class or Upper Second class Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or Second Class Lower Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with two years working experience.

4. Post Graduate Diploma In Education (PGDE)

Relevant first degree in Arts or Sciences

5. Bachelor Of Education (Arts),

KCSE C+ with C+ in the subject chosen for study. Or diploma in a related area with at least a credit passes.

6. Bachelor Of Education(SCIENCE)

KCSE C+ with C+ in the subject chosen for study. Or diploma in a related area with at least a credit passes.

7. Bachelor Of Education(ECDE)

KCSE C+ with C+ in the subject chosen for study. Or diploma in a related area with at least a credit passes.

8. Bachelor of Arts in Community Development.

KCSE certificate with a minimum grade C+ (plus) or its equivalent or a diploma in Community Development from a recognized institution with at least a credit pass.

9. Diploma in social work and community development
